How One Easter Order of 300 Bouquets Transformed My Flower Farming Business

It was the spring of 2021, and like many small businesses, my flower farm was still facing unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and just losing my husband Josh that past December. With events canceled, a baby on the way and uncertainty looming, I wasn't sure how I would keep my farm afloat. But then, an unexpected opportunity came knocking.

A business owner contacted me with a request: they needed 300 flower bouquets for an Easter event that was quickly approaching. It was a daunting request, considering the circumstances, but something inside me urged me to take the leap. I saw it as a chance to not only keep my business going but also to bring a bit of joy and beauty to people during a difficult time.

Taking on this order was a risk, but I knew that if I didn't seize the opportunity, I would always wonder what could have been. So, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. With the support of my community and fellow florists, I was able to source the flowers I needed and create 300 stunning bouquets in time for the event.

The response was overwhelming. People loved the bouquets, and the distributed flowers was a huge success. But more than that, this experience taught me valuable lessons that have since shaped the way I approach my business and life in general.

First and foremost, it taught me the importance of taking risks. Sometimes, the biggest opportunities come when we step outside of our comfort zones and take a chance. Yes, there was a chance of failure, but the potential reward was worth it.

Secondly, it taught me the importance of overcoming fear. Fear can be paralyzing, but if we let it hold us back, we'll never know what we're truly capable of. I had to push past my fears of failure and inadequacy to take on this order, and I'm so glad I did.

Lastly, it taught me the value of seeking support and collaboration. I couldn't have fulfilled this order without the help of my community and friends. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness but a strength. Together, we can achieve so much more than we ever could alone.

In conclusion, this experience taught me to live in the moment and embrace opportunities as they come. Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and sometimes, the best experiences and opportunities are the ones we least expect.
